The Maze

Kevin, Ricky, and Scotty finally arrived, after taking three different busses to get to get there. They had been talking about going to the giant corn maze for the past few weeks. It was part of a fall festival that was being held in one of the neighborhoods on the other side of town. They normally wouldn’t even think about going to something like this, but Scotty’s older brother, Woody, had told them about it, and basically dared them to go. He told them that they were afraid because they knew they would get lost in the Maze, and never be able to find their way out, and the police would have to go in to find them. “Yeah right!” They found it interesting that Woody didn’t want to come with them. Maybe he was the one who’d be scared.

It had taken them almost three hours to get there, taking the bus. They had actually never been to this part of town before, but there were a lot of people there for the festival. There was food, and a band playing music, plus there was a deejay. There was a pumpkin patch, and farm animals for the little kids. The guys filled up on hot dogs, hamburgers, and pop, and then finally decided to go ahead and enter the maze.

That thing was huge. It was at least four city blocks. It was going to take forever to find the way out of there. There were a ton of people wandering through the maze. Kevin, Ricky and Scotty ended up joining up with some other kids, with all of them working together to try and figure the way out. It was fun hanging out with kids they didn’t know. They were from another part of the city, but they were cool.

Finally, after about an hour, there was the light at the end of the tunnel. They made it out, and no one even had to call the police to find them. They hung out with the other kids for a little while, and even got their phone numbers, so they could try and stay in touch. Then, it was off to the bus stop to catch the first of the three busses to go back home.
